He's alive! I was blessed to speak with him directly last week. Here's what I know:

• He's lost about 60 pounds.
• He's still having trouble breathing.
• He's pretty weak, but is getting stronger everyday.

He said the whole experience was surreal and that he didn't have the words to explain it. He also said that he encountered just about every complication there was to be had.

He was in good spirits and wanted everyone to know that he is on the mend.
