The esophagus begins at the lowest part of the throat, runs down through the chest, across the diaphragm, and into the top of the stomach.

The green colored objects are lymph nodes and lymph vessels.

The tumor site is located where the esophagus and stomach join. People in the surgery biz refer to the area as the “G.E. Junction.”
